Back at the beginning of my Linux career, I got introduced to "for" loops and it changed my world. It meant I could loop through a list and do my work a lot quicker. If you don't know how to do for loops yet, this demo will give you a quick introduction that you can hopefully build on. It's definitely worth having for loops in your kit! If we write this menu with a shell script then we can run it from their .bashrc login script using exec [scriptname] to ensure that leaving the script also logs them out. We can use a while loop to ensure the menu is shown after each selection and a case statement to read the users's selection. To ensure users cannot cntrl+c out of the meny we trap the signal so that it is ignored byt he script.
