How will today's teenagers shape our future? An insight to this was shared on Feb 25th 2017 by Al Yasmina Academy students from Abu Dhabi, who hosted an exclusive TEDx event titled: There is more to us than meets the eye. They took to the stage to enlighten an audience of special guests and media members. Tackling a variety of timely, thought provoking topics, the talks explored subjects including the impact of the media on human compassion, how we can tackle personal confusion, and why music is a language. Other topics, such as the importance of artistic creation in modern culture and how to sell ourselves to succeed in life, were also explored. In this talk, Hamza Abbas discusses how one can sell themselves, the qualities they would need to succeed in life and the effects these would have on other’s impressions of them. Hamza Abbas is an Aldar Academies Al Yasmina Academy student in Abu Dhabi. He has a unique critical thinking approach towards life, a mind for social engineering and a passion for technology. So today, we are going to look at what you can learn from Alpha about selling especially when you're selling yourself as we so often have to like in a date or an interview scenario. What's the hardest interview question? "Tell me about yourself." When defining your career plan, you must be able to advertise yourself effectively to others. Let me show you how. Jack Wagner started in business career in 1974 with the IBM Corporation. He held many roles throughout his 34-year tenure at IBM but was always viewed as a business visionary. Jack was an Adjunct Professor at New Jersey Institute of Technology in the Martin Tuchman School of Management from 2008 to 2017. He is taught marketing, business management, international business and career planning/personal development. Jack called upon his years of global business experience to create a classroom environment using real case studies and fostering student involvement including a new class he created for seniors to prepare them for the world of business. He created a partnership between IBM and NJIT to integrate digital technologies into classes and certify students on their skills. He has extended his involvement at NJIT in his role as President of the Alumni Association and has created the Highlander Connect Initiative to focus alumni resources on career planning for students.
