🤍 This is a 4-Bore single-barrel rifle built on an Army Navy Supply frame by J.J. Perodeau of Enid Oklahoma. I am firing 1750 grain lead bullets over charges of 325gr of Goex Fg. Muzzle velocity is approximately 1340fps, generating about 7,000 ftlb of muzzle energy. This is the largest rifle ever actually used for something other than just breaking records - these were employed as dangerous game rifles in Africa and India. Bear. Read the whole description: Warning: Do not watch this unless you want to watch a bear get killed! This bear ripped a baby moose calf right out of its mother while she was giving birth 2 days prior to this hunt, it was also chasing people at a nearby park and ride a kid got hurt and mauled by this bear a week prior to this hunt. We were asked by ADFW to put our skills to use and despatch this problem bear. We set up a bait nearby and killed the problem bear. The title of this video is for click bait. This is a hunt in Alaska. The footage was used to show how effective a 12 gauge can be. 🤍 Keep in mind this is just a bear hunt, the weapon of choice, just happens to be a 12 gauge with a slug. This bear was eaten and the hide made into a rug. Steve shot the bear, it was filmed and edited by Mike West in 1998. Steve had a goal to shoot a bear and not have it run off, he wanted to have some good sausage made. He wanted a rug. He wanted it filmed. He accomplished all his goals. Keep in mind that while we have active bear baits in Alaska, we keep 4-10 bears occupied eating at our baits instead of them attacking mother moose while they are trying to have their calves. We also keep them from going into town during a low feed time for them. Bait hunting is the best way to tell if your shooting a bear with a good hide, best way to have time to tell if the bear has a cub, best way to tell how big of a bear you're shooting, best way for a beginner to have lots of time to shoot and make it count.
